New Recreational Marijuana Law Effective July 1, 2023

Flag of Maryland.svg

Effective July 1, 2023, Possession of Less than 10 grams of Marijuana will not be a crime. An individual who is in possession of less than 10 grams of Marijuana will be subject to a fine of not more than $250.00. After July 1, 2023, individuals who were convicted of possession of less than 10 grams of Marijuana would be eligible to have the conviction expunged. Since criminal records sometimes effect an individual’s ability to obtain employment, expunging a past conviction for possession of Marijuana prior to July 1, 2023, could result in ensuring that a prior conviction does not hinder future employment opportunities.

The Law Office of Lynndolyn Mitchell has extensive experience in assisting individuals in getting their prior eligible criminal records expunged.
